LAKE OF TEARS Finalize New Record Deal
October 6, 2003Sweden's LAKE OF TEARS are in the process of finalizing a new record deal with an as-yet-undisclosed label. "This is with a lot of mixed emotions," guitarist/vocalist Daniel Brennare said of the signing process. "These guys [at the new record company] seem really good, honest and supportive so we're really looking forward to work with them ... but to put your name on a bunch of papers again, huh, that hurts.
"Rehearsals are coming on quite well. We've played through some of the old songs and we're actually beginning to feel that we can play them (almost). So, the time will soon come for trying out new material ...
"The plan now is to record the album during the first half of 2004 and then to play some shows later on that year. So, see you then!"
LAKE OF TEARS' fifth full-length album, "The Neonai", was released a year ago through Black Mark. It was recorded with producer Ulf Wahlberg at Stockholm's XTC studios, and featured return guest appearances by former TIAMAT/DISMEMBER guitarist Magnus Sahlgren (who also appeared on 1999's "Forever Autumn") and vocalist Jennie Tebler (who also guested on "Lady Rosenred" off 1997's "A Crimson Cosmos").
